The engine oil has been developed specifically to protect against damage caused by driving in stop-start conditions, Castrol said in a release.
Waiting at various junctions causes microscopic wear in engines, it said, adding that intelligent molecules in the engine oil cling to critical engine parts and form a "self- healing layer of protection".
"India's traffic congestion in main urban areas is something that is experienced daily and stop-start driving is a feature of everyday commuting. This is the ideal lubricant to provide the right protection to car engines in these conditions," Castrol India Technology Manager Milind Vaidya said in the release.
