CBI arrest officers in graft charges

CBI has arrested a Manager of Union Bank of India, Regional Office, Bhubaneswar (Odisha) for for receiving an alleged bribe of Rs 40,000 for clearing bills of security guards.
CBI alleged the accused demanded bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant for passing his bill in respect of Security Guards provided to ATMs of the bank.
"CBI laid a trap and caught the accused while demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 40,000 from the complainant. Searches were conducted at the residential premises of accused person which led to recovery of incriminating documents showing investment and land documents etc," CBI spokesperson said.

The CBI official said in another case, a Senior Section Engineer (Works), North Eastern Railways, Kashipur (Uttarakhand) has been arrested for allegedly accepting bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant.
"A case was registered against Senior Section Engineer (Works), North Eastern Railways, Kashipur (Uttarakhand) U/s 7 of PC Act, 1988 on the allegations that the SSE(W) demanded bribe of Rs 10,000 and agreed to accept the same from the complainant for settling his pending bills. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000 from the complainant," the official said.
