CBI joint director Sumanbala Sahoo and the central agency's local SP M K Sinha today met Odisha DGP Sanjeev Marik and additional DGP, Crime Branch, Bijay Kumar Sharma at the state police headquarters in Cuttack today.
"It was purely a courtesy call. She (Sahoo) met me as part of CBI's annual inspection of its Odisha unit," Marik told reporters.
CBI joint director's meeting with the top police officers of the state came in the backdrop of the central agency interrogating two Odisha cadre IPS officers - Rajesh Kumar and Satish Kumar Gajbhiye, in connection with the multi-crore chit fund scam.
The CBI has also arrested Pramod Panda, a DSP rank police officer in the state, for his alleged links with Ponzi firms.
