Fair trade regulator CCI has probed 132 cases of alleged anti-competitive practises in real estate sector but passed orders in only 13 cases, including against DLF, while other matters have been disposed of without any action, Parliament was informed today.

In a written reply to Rajya Sabha, Corporate Affairs Minister Arun Jaitley said that Competition Commission of India (CCI) has investigated 132 cases of alleged abuse of dominance in the realty sector till February 11 this year.

Of this, 93 matters have been closed at prima facie stage and three cases have been disposed of after considering the report of Director General of CCI.

Further, the Commission has passed "cease and desist orders" in 13 cases, including against realty giant DLF.

In addition to passing a cease and desist order against DLF, the competition watchdog imposed a penalty of Rs 630 crore on the real estate giant for abusing its dominant position.

CCI has the mandate to eliminate practises that have adverse impact on competition and protect the interests of consumers.
