"Punishment for celebrities should be made 10 times more stringent than for others if they kill deer because they attract a following," she told reporters.
Recalling the 1998 black buck killing allegedly by Bollywood stars Salman Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Tabbu, Sonali Bendre, Neelam, the MP criticised the government for conferring Padma Awards on some film stars, who were accused of killing black bucks.
She also called for immediate steps to stop smuggling of cows to Bangladesh and a ban on oxytocin injections to cows claiming milk from injected cows could cause cancer to humans.
This injection is given to cows with a belief that it will produce more milk.
"I would like to request the BJP to include protection of cows in its election manifesto," she said and called upon the police personnel keep a strict vigil on smuggling of cows.
