"Though law and order is a state subject, the Centre cannot shirk its responsibility so far as containing insurgency is concerned," the state government said in a statement here.
Referring to the statement of Union Minister Sarbananda Sonowal blaming the state government for the recent Rajgarh blast in Dibrugarh district by suspected ULFA militants, it said, "Instead of blaming the state government alone, the union minister must also realise that the central government too has a major role to play as all the insurgent outfits have their bases outside the country".
Two persons were killed and 27 others injured in a powerful blast at a market place in Rajgarh town of Dibrugarh district in Assam on November 23.
