The Centre is likely to hold a meeting with mineral-rich states next month to take stock of the progress of e-auction process of mineral blocks that would be go under the hammer this fiscal.
The mines ministry said the meeting with 21 mineral-rich states would be held at Indore in Madhya Pradesh.
The meeting would discuss progress of e-auction of mineral blocks for 2018-19, it said.
The Centre had earlier stated that unless issues related to green clearances and land rights are addressed upfront, India may not make much progress in auctioning of mineral blocks in the future.
This year about 106 mineral blocks would be put up for auction, Mines Joint Secretary Anil Kumar Nayak had said, adding that all the concerned states were working towards that.
