Chana prices rose 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,859 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators created fresh positions taking positive cues from spot market on upsurge in demand.

Besides, lower estimated output from the major producing belts due to unseasonal rains in key growing regions supported the upside.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, chana for delivery in July month edged higher by Rs 18, or 0.37 per cent to Rs 4,859 per quintal with an open interest of 1,56,940 lots.
