Chandigarh Administration, French Development Agency sign MoUs

Chandigarh Administration and French Development Agency (AFD) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoUs) on Chandigarh Smart City Project and 'Technical Cooperation' in the field of Sustainable Urban Mobility here today.
The MoUs were signed by K K Jindal, Secretary Transport, Chandigarh Administration and Minister Counsellor, Embassy of France in India, Jean Marc FENET and Director French Development Agency, Nicolas Fornage.
FENET assured the Chandigarh Administration that the Indo-French partnership will continue to address the issues pertaining to Smart City Project (SCP) to achieve the vision of making Chandigarh a healthy, happy and happening city, a statement issued here said.
During an Indo-French workshop, Fornage highlighted the ongoing cooperation of the agency in areas of smart funds and smart ideas that can help Chandigarh Administration in reaching closer to its goals, it said.
He emphasized on the AFD's assistance to implement Smart City project by providing recommendations on institutional operational and financial structuring of the project and by organizing workshop between experts and Chandigarh authorities.
Baldeo Purushartha, Commissioner Municipal Corporation-cum-Nodal officer Smart City said the Chandigarh Administration aims to make the city a vibrant and unique regional center and leader in livability, sustainability, equality and innovation.
