Changes in darshan timings of Rameswaram temple announced
Press Trust of India Rameswaram (TN) The famous lord Ramanathaswamy temple here, which is thronged by devotees from acros the country, will remain closed for darshan during daytime on August 6 and 12, in view of annual festivals.
On August 6, on the occasion of Adithapasu festival, the temple will be opened at 2 am and closed around 6 am after the idol of goddess Parvathavardhini ambal is take out on a procession, a press release issued by temple Joint Commissioner S Selvaraj said.
The temple will reopen after 5 pm for regular darshan for devotees.
Similarily, on August 12, the temple will be opened at 2 am and closed around 6 am after the idols of the presiding dieties are take out on a procession.
The temple will then reopen at 10 pm, when the routine night poojas will be performed.
