A charge-sheet was filed against Pras Jain, BJP leader and chairman of Khautauli municipal council yesterday for submitting forged birth certificate during the municipal elections in 2012, Sunil Tyagi, SHO, Katoli police station said.
A K Rai, then Chief Executive Officer was also charge-sheeted in the case for helping the BJP leader, he said.
The charge-sheet has been filed under sections 420 (cheating), 467 (forgery of security) and 468 (forgery for purpose of cheating) of the IPC, Tyagi said.
