The incident happened yesterday at around 6 pm when the victim was flying kite.
The kite was snapped and landed at the roof of the building where the three accused lived.
As he tried to get the kite back, the accused allegedly caught and thrashed him using a pipe and inflicted injury on him with a heated knife, police said.
The mother of the boy, who is a widow, alleged the youths tried to sodomise him and there were injuries on his private parts.
The victim was taken to LBS hospital where a medical examination was also conducted on him, he said.
The mother also alleged the boy was brutalised by the accused for several hours before they freed him with a warning to not to report the matter to the police.
The family of the boy joined by locals also staged a demonstration on the Vikas Marg demanding strict punishment to the accused.
