Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda today claimed that the family of INLD supremo Om Parkash Chautala is making false accusations against his government just to save their image.
"They were sent behind the bars (Om Prakash Chautala and his MLA son Ajay) for their ill practises. Now, their family (Abhay and other) members are indulging in making false accusations just to save their image," Hooda said while addressing a series of public meetings in Hisar Lok Sabha constituency.
They have been going around saying that the Congress party or I was responsible for sending them to jail, he said.
He was addressing the rally in favour of Congress MLA from Nalwa Sampat Singh who is taking on sitting MP of the HJC, Kuldeep Bishnoi from here. Also INLD's greenhorn Dushyant Chautala and bureaucrat-turned-politician Y S Khyalia are in the fray.
Hooda said that Chautalas have nothing to say, therefore, "they were indulging in these false accusations."
Referring to JBT scam in the state 15 years ago, in which the former Chief Minister Chautala and his son were serving jail term, Hooda said, the case was investigated by the CBI during their own (INLD's) tenure.
"During those days, there was NDA government at the Centre (NDA) supported by them. If I had to send them to jail, I would not have waited for eight long years but would have done it promptly," the Haryana CM said.
He claimed that massive development had taken place in the state during the past nine years and appealed to the people to vote for Congress in the upcoming parliamentary elections.
He appealed the people to maintain this phase of development in the larger interest of the future generations.
