Chawrasia dropped three bogeys, a double bogey against five birdies on the second day to aggregate 142, while Lahiri totalled 147 at the half-way stage after dropping five bogeys and three birdies today.
At the top, Australia's Marcus Fraser brought home a sedate two-under 69 to continue to be the leader at the half-way stage with a total of 10-under 132.
Birdies and bogeys flew in equal measure from Chawrasia's club as he dropped a bogey and a double bogey in the second and third holes respectively before firing a couple of birdies in the fourth and fifth to make amends.
The Kolkata golfer then produced a birdie-birdie finish to make the turn at one-under.
On resumption, Chawrasia stumbled again at the 10th and 11th holes to go one over before managing a birdie at the 17th to finish even-par.
He again dropped a bogey at the 14th hole before a couple of birdies on the 16th and 18th holes helped him to end the day on a positive note.
Chawrasia and Lahiri had started with even par 71 and three-over 74 respectively to be placed 27th and 50th at the end of the first round yesterday.
