Chemist accuses SP leader kin of attack on him

A chemist based in south Delhi has accused the daughter-in-law of a Samajwadi Party leader of allegedly getting him beaten by four persons after he failed to provide a medicine they had asked for, police said today.
Ashok, claimed that he was threatened and abused by a caller who is said to be the daughter-in-law of a senior SP leader, according to police.
In his complaint, Ashok said that on September 17, at around 10.30 pm, a man in white suit reached the shop in Yusuf Sarai area and demanded a cough syrup.
The chemist along with his other employee, searched the drug and told the customer that it is unavailable but he has its substitute.

To confirm whether he should buy the substitute or not, the customer made a call to someone who asked him to hand-over the phone to the chemist, police said.
"A female who was on the other side of the line started abusing him and even threatened him of dire consequences," they said.

Later, four men out of which two were in civil dress and two in khaki uniform with pistols tucked in their belt, entered the shop and started man-handling the chemist.
As per the CCTV footage, all four of them thrashed him and broke few articles in the shop.

The matter came to light today when the senior police officials were contacted.
Later, police claimed that the chemist refused to undergo a medical examination.
"Investigation is on and a man-hunt has been launched for all the four men identified with the help of CCTV footage. The mobile number of the caller is been scanned to find out the user who allegedly threatened the chemist and sent her guards to beat the victim," said a police official.
