This is the impression of party leaders after Chennithala met Congress president's Political Secretary Ahmed Patel and AICC General Secretary (in-charge Kerala) Mukul Wasnik here today.
Amid talks that he will be inducted in state cabinet at a time when the Congress government in the state has been hit by solar panel scam, Chennithala is learnt to have conveyed his position to the party leaders on the issue.
Sources said Chennithala, who has been at the helm of the party for the last eight years, will be asked to join the government by the party high command as it is essential to give a breather to ruling Congress-led UDF which is under fire from opposition CPI(M)-led LDF over the scandal.
A final decision on Chennithala's entry into the Cabinet is expected to be taken in the meeting, sources said.
