China lauds Pak's efforts to curb terrorism

China today praised Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif's efforts to curb terrorism by securing the support of all political parties.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Hong Lei told a press briefing here that China has always supported Pakistan in developing and implementing counter-terrorism and security strategies based on Pakistan's national conditions.
China sincerely hopes Pakistan will maintain social stability and economic development, he said.
"We sincerely hope that Pakistan will maintain social stability and economic development," Hong said.
Pakistan's ruling and opposition parties attended an meeting convened by Prime Minister Sharif and appealed to the government to hold talks with armed Taliban militants to end the bloodshed in the country.
