The Chinese national, identified as Mingxing (40), arrived at the T-3 of the international airport on July 21 at around 1400 hours to travel to Guangzhou and he was intercepted by a CISF check squad as they found his movements suspicious.
"On screening of his baggage, 60-kilogrammes of sandalwood was recovered and it was handed over to Customs officials at the airport who apprehended him," a senior official said.
He was later fined Rs 30,000 by Customs authorities and was let off after completing due legal procedures.
The person, identified as Viplav Kumar Das, was apprehended from the Laxmi Nagar metro station while he was checking the documents of an aspirant whom he had called.
A CISF personnel identified Das as his photo footage was saved and circulated by the CISF under the list of suspects reported on the Delhi Metro network.
Das was then handed over to Delhi police for further interrogation, a senior official said.
