Chinmayi Sripada gets to sing in Marathi film

Popular playback singer Chinmayi Sripada is elated over rendering a song for the first time in a Marathi superhero film 'Baji' starring Shreyas Talpade.
"Yes this is the first time I have sung in Marathi and it is special because this is the first language I learnt to speak as a child," she said.
"Atif is the music director, a debutant. And I presume they got through to me because of 'Titli,' all thanks to Shekhar sir (music composer Shekhar) again. The movie is expected to release early 2015," she said.
She also shared her joy on her page on a social networking site.

"Elated to share that I have sung my first song(s) in the Marathi magnum opus 'Baji'. The first language I learnt and the only language I could speak till I was about 5-6 years old was Marathi owing to my childhood here, in Mumbai and my babysitter 'Ajji'."
"Extremely grateful for the opportunity and I got to sing two lovely songs," she posted on her page.

'Baji' is directed by Nikhil Mahajan.
She said 2014 has been extremely special for her.
"The year started wonderfully with 'Zehnaseeb' (Hasee Toh Phasee). 'Mast Magan' ('Two States') won me the Radio Mirchi Golden Disc award. Grateful to Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy for the opportunity and the song," she told PTI.

Chinmayi said the past several months have been wonderful as she got to sing for a lot of new composers.
