The Mandie Fletcher-directed movie and written by Jennifer Saunders is based on the television show Absolutely Fabulous.
Colfer, 25, said his character is a
hairdresser-slash-social media consultant, reported Entertainment Weekly.
"Jennifer Saunders is one of my heroes. I can't believe she wrote the part for me," the actor said.
Kim Kardashian is set to make a cameo in the film, which Colfer called the "Real Housewives before the Real Housewives."
The movie also stars Saunders, Joanna Lumley, Julia Sawalha, June Whitfield, and Jane Horrocks.
