Actor Chris Messina is the latest addition to the third season of USA Network's "The Sinner".
Messina will essay the role of Nick Haas, college friend to Matt Bomber's Jamie.
The third season will follow detective Harry Ambrose (Bill Pullman) as he starts a routine investigation of a tragic car accident on the outskirts of Dorchester, in upstate New York. He ends up uncovering a hidden crime that pushes him into the most "dangerous and disturbing" case of his career.
Derek Simonds is returning as executive producer and showrunner for the third installment.
Jessica Biel, who featured in the first season will serve as executive produce along with Michelle Purple through their company, Iron Ocean.
Adam Bernstein is directing the first two episodes of the new season.
