'Guardians of the Galaxy' star Chris Pratt and his actress wife, Anna Faris have opened up about their ordeal when their first child was born nine weeks premature.
Faris, 37, and Pratt were devastated when they were told that their son Jack would likely have special needs, reported ABC News.
"He was born at three pounds. And we were told, 'Okay, you need to be prepared for raising a special-needs child'," Faris told GQ for the Men of the Year Issue.
Faris said that though it was a shock, they took it in stride and focused on being the best parents they could be to their son.
"And we felt like it was devastating, but it also felt like, you know, 'We can do this,'" she said.
Pratt added, "He's alive."
The couple added that now, Jack is doing well and only needs to wear glasses. He's also adjusting to pre-school.
"I don't know what they do. Basically you just go there to get a cold," Pratt said.
Pratt and Faris met on the set of 2007 film 'Take Me Home Tonight', and the pair married two years later. They welcomed their son Jack into the world in August 2012.
