Supermodel Chrissy Teigen has revealed she was suffering from postpartum depression and anxiety issues.
The 31-year-old diva has penned a bare-it-all essay in Glamour magazine's April cover story where she pours her heart out on how her life took a 360-degree turn after the birth of her and singer husband John Legend's daughter, Luna, last year, reported People magazine.
Talking about how things went awry for her when she returned from maternity leave, Chrissy wrote, "One thing that really got me was just how short I was with people. I would be in my dressing room, getting hair and makeup done, and a crew member would knock on the door and ask: 'Chrissy, do you know the lyrics to this song?' And I would lose it..."
But, feeling something was off with her, Chrissy sought out her doctor.
"My doctor pulled out a book and started listing symptoms. And I was like, 'Yep, yep, yep.' I got my diagnosis: postpartum depression and anxiety. (The anxiety explains some of my physical symptoms,)" wrote Chrissy.
She added Legend stood by her like a rock throughout her struggle and diagnosis.
"John has been incredible over the last nine months, bringing me my medicine and watching horrible reality TV with me. He is not the goofiest guy, but he has gone out of his way to indulge my sense of humour."
Emphasising on the import of making this news public, Chrissy went on to write, "I'm speaking up now because I want people to know it can happen to anybody, and I don't want people who have it to feel embarrassed or to feel alone.
