Churk hottest in UP at 44.6 deg C

Uttar Pradesh continued to reel under severe heat with mercury hitting 44.6 degree Celsius at Churk, which was the hottest in the state today.
Met office said weather remained dry in the state and heat wave conditions prevailed at isolated places.
Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Meerut division, appreciably above normal in Varanasi ,Allahabad, Kanpur, Lucknow, Bareilly, Agra and Moradabad divisions, above normal in Jhansi division, though it was below normal in Gorakhpur division and normal in Faizabad division.
It said weather was likely to remain dry across the state with heat wave continuing at isolated places.
