CISF arrested two passengers and seizes USD 1,10,000 at NSCBIA

The CISF has arrested two Indian Nationals for carrying USD 1,10,000 worth over Rs 72 lakh in Indian currency at the NSC Bose International Airport here.
The entire amount was seized and the passengers were handed over to the airport customs, the CISF sources said today.
Yesterday at about 11.05 PM, during Pre-Embarkation Security Check at the international security hold area of the NSCBI Airport, CISF Assistant Sub-Inspector Deepak Singh noticed suspicious image of laptop chargers from the hand baggages of two passengers Sajjad Ali and Mohan Basu.
Sajjad Ali, aged about 24 yrs and Mohan Basu, aged about 51 yrs, were scheduled to travel to Singapore by flight No MI-487 at about 11.55 PM.
During frisking of the baggages of both the passengers, the CISF jawans found the booty concealed in 11 AC Adopters. While USD 60,000 were found from the hand baggage of Mohan Basu, USD 50,000 were recovered from the hand baggage of Sajjad Ali.
The matter was immediately informed to the senior officials of the CISF.
Later, both the passengers along-with the seized foreign currency were handed over to the Customs officials for follow-up action.
