The mercury is set to rise a few notches in the Capital as the World Cup comes calling, prompting some night clubs to contemplate keeping their doors open till as late as 2.30 am and entice fans by serving food and theme-based drinks such as 'Attacker' and 'Dribble'.
Several hotels would be offering exclusive packages to attract clients.
Shangri-La, for example, will treat fans to theme-based cocktails such as Attacker, Dribble, Goal Kick, Header, Back Pass and Red card. There will be combos like 'Golden Goal' and 'Break Away' comprising beverages and foods.
"We have decorated our bar based on football theme with national flags, posters plus we will have happy hours to keep the fans happy," said the bar official of Shangri-La.
ITC Maurya will install three big screens besides providing irresistible drinks and snacks.
A PR official of The Leela Hotels said, "There will be screens which will play out matches in our exclusive lounge during the one-month long tournament."
Sports bars seem to be the most popular hangout zone among the youths, when one talks about the mega-event starting tonight.
"We will show the matches live on daily basis. During the match time we are coming up with some interesting contests like who will score goals, predict the winners etc. Lucrative gift hampers will also be there for the participants," said an official of Underdoggs Sports Bar.
"We will decorate with the national flags to give fans a stadium like atmosphere," she added.
Some prominent sports bars are coming up with special platters based on countries like Brazil, Argentina, Germany and Spain and superstars Cristiano Ronaldo, Lionel Messi and Neymar.
"We will try to engage the fans by having special dishes named after the countries and players who enjoy fan following. Besides, there will be t-shirts and other goodies during the matches," said a marketing official of 'Game of legends', a sports bar located at Rajjouri Garden.
The cafes are also not lagging behind when it comes to tempting the fans.
"There will be happy hours as well as special bouquets during the 9 30 matches for the fans," Manish Sharma, an official of Market Cafe in Greater Kailash said.
