The plaintiff, Vishnu Movie Makers in Mysore, claimed that it had produced a Kannada film titled "ParIvara" in 2013 and obtained the censor certificate in December the same year. But the film could not be released due to financial problems.
The makers arranged a preview show for distributors and friends, in which Gopi Nainar also participated, it was submitted.
The plaintiff further alleged that Nainar copied the Kannada version of the film without obtaining any rights or permission.
The plaintiff said the film has also been released in Karnataka, adding the present civil suit was filed to restrain the trio from exhibiting the film.
