The family took the victim Sushant Sharma to a hospital but seeing his serious condition, doctors referred him to Safdarjung Hospital in Delhi, they said.
Sharma, a class 12 student and resident of Braj Vihar Colony studies in a private institution. Feeling upset after being scolded by his father, he took the step, police said.
