He also appreciated attempts of Uttar Pradesh government to clean Gomti and appealed to the people to lend support in the work.
"UP government is making serious efforts to clean river Gomti. The common man should also help the government for the cause," Chidanand said while addressing meeting of Gomti Action Pariwar.
He said that the work on Gomti should be started from Pilibhit, where the river originates and should be done till Ghazipur, where it meets Ganga.
