According to a MeT department official, the visibility was recorded at 1,000 metres at Safdarjung at 5.30 AM, which dropped to 600 metres at 8.30 AM before improving significantly to 2,500 metres at 11 AM.
The visibility at Palam was zero at 5.30 AM which subsequently improved to 100 metres by 8.30 AM. It was recorded at 1,000 metres at 11.30 AM, the official said.
A senior railway official said that rail traffic was hit because of foggy weather conditions.
However, flight operations were reported normal at the Indira Gandhi International Airport, its spokesperson said.
The city recorded a minimum temperature of 10.5 degrees Celsius, two notches above the normal, while the maximum temperature was pegged at 24.2 degrees Celsius, a notch above the season's average.
The humidity level oscillated between 95 and 32 per cent, a Met official said.
The weatherman has predicted mainly clear skies for tomorrow with mist and shallow fog in some areas.
The maximum and minimum temperatures are expected to settle at 24 and 9 degrees Celsius, respectively, they said.
