Clement Larriere registers upset win in ITF Futures

Frenchman Clement Larriere scored an upset win over third-seed Yurii Dzhavakian of Ukraine to book his place in the quarterfinals of the LMW ITF Men's Futures tennis tournament here today.
In the singles pre-quarterfinals, Larriere shocked the third seed 7-6(8), 6-3.
In other matches, all other seeded players in action, including No.1 seed Sasi Kumar Mukund of India, made it to the last eight, albeit in contrasting fashions.
Mukund quelled the challenge of compatriot Nitin Kumar Sinha 6-3, 7-5 to advance while the No.2 seed Colin Van Beem of the Netherlands gpt past India's Tejas Chaukulkar 7-5, 3-6, 6-4.
Dzhavakian lost in the doubles too, losing his quarterfinal match with Van Beem to the Indian pair of Arjun Khade and Sasi Kumar Mukund. The third-seeds were beaten in three sets.
The doubles top-seeds Chandril and Lakshit Sood survived a close three-setter, getting past Nitin Kumar Sinha and Haadin Bava 7-6, 4-6, 11-9.
