A devastating fire gutted at least 60 houses in the area on May 8.

Expressing concern over repeated fire incidents in the state, Tuki appealed to the people to be cautious and adopt mandatory preventive measures, an official release said.

"The government or the administration cannot prevent fire until and unless each household and each individual voluntarily takes up preventive measures and remain vigilant," the release quoted him as said.

All the victim families are being temporarily accommodated in places like panchayat hall, community hall and local churches.
