Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti today asked government employees to be "proactive and innovative" in finding "practical and implementable" solutions to the problems being faced by the people of the state.
"I would like all in the government to be proactive and innovative and find practical and implementable solutions to the people's problems, instead of resorting to the hackneyed approach," she said while interacting with the women staffers of Civil Secretariat here, said an official spokesman quoting her.
Seeking their support in reaching out to the people and mitigating their sufferings, Mehbooba said it was heartening to note that despite difficulties due to the prevailing law-and-order situation, the women employees reported to duty regularly, the spokesman added.
She urged government officials to be "more considerate" in their approach and said, "The officials should know that even a casual noting on a file by them can make or break a common man's life."
Urging them to take "great care" while handling files, she said, "They (officials) should know that one day, they will also have to visit government offices for matters that touch their everyday life," adding that her government would take due care of the career aspirations of meritorious and hard-working employees.
Mehbooba enquired from the women staff about any difficulty they were facing.
"I am always accessible and the doors to my office will remain open for you," she said.
On the request of the female employees, the Chief Minister issued directions for arranging transport facilities and suitable accommodation for them. The women staffers expressed gratitude to her, said the spokesman.
