"The Government's desire is to ensure that there is honesty and transparency in administration. The administrative machinery has been sensitised to achieve this goal," Siddaramaiah said.
Speaking at the 68th Independence Day celebrations here, he said, "We have taken strict measures to protect sanctity in recruitments and took some hard decisions in this regard. Even when investigations have indicated some irregularities in recruitments and decisions are taken on such findings, some vested interests are trying to stoke emotional feelings, which is against public interest."
The state cabinet on August 7 had scrapped the 2011 provisional list of gazetted probationary officers for group A and B services and ordered re-examination, after Criminal Investigation Department reported large-scale malpractices.
The issue has turned into a major political row with both Siddaramaiah and former Chief Minister Kumaraswamy, who has taken up cudgels for the selected candidates, sniping at each other.
Stating that his government has responded positively to the people's problems by taking apt decisions in time, Siddaramaiah said, "It has also framed various policies for overall development of all sections of people. Numerous pro-people policies have been implemented and all these are achieved in a silent manner."
"However, we are unperturbed by such disturbances and we shall continue our efforts to achieve overall progress of the State," he added.
