A group of people today stopped the car of Chief Minister Edapadi Palanisami and submitted a memorandum seeking implementation of long pending Avinashi Athikadavu Ground water project.
Palanisamy was going to Udhagamandalam in Nilgiris district via road from the city to inaugurate the annual flower show scheduled for tomorrow.
As he reached Annur, some people stood on the road and stopped the his car and submitted the memorandum, as the project was conceptualised some 50 years ago, police sources said.
He accepted the memorandum.
Later Palanisamy told reporters at nearby Mettupalayam that the project will be taken up very soon.
