Benefits of various welfare schemes would reach the targetted sections of people only when there was "awareness about the schemes among the people", he said inaugurating a three day 'Public Information Campaign' organised by the Press Information Bureau (PIB) in association with the Union Information and Broadcasting ministry here today.
Such an awareness would also keep at bay intermediaries and ensure proper implementation for the benefit of the people, Rangasamy said, adding, people's participation in implementation of the schemes would ensure a strong and integrated nation.
Additional Director General of the PIB, Chennai, K M Ravindran said the fair would bring to focus the highlights of a number of schemes of the Central government including the PM's Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat, Smart City, Make In India, MGNREGA, among others.
