"Electric vehicles can play an important role in giving a new dimension to the national economy...They hold promise as they are more environment friendly...For making them more acceptable they need to be made more technologically efficient," Adityanath said at an event here.
The chief minister stressed on making electronic vehicles affordable, easy to operate and efficient so that they become popular among the people.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi has already launched a programme aimed at having 60 to 70 lakh e-vehicles on road by 2020, he added.
