Chief officer of the ship 'Al Hadbaa' Nihad Abdulridha Alwan had taken ill in the sea 40 Nautical Miles south of Sagar and the vessel could not enter the harbour due draught restrictions and had to be anchored at a distance.
The agent of the ship then sought the Coast Guard's assistance. The Coast Guard deployed its fast interceptor boat along with a medical team at 8.30 AM for the evacuation.
Inspector General K R Nautiyal, Commander Coast Guard Region (North East), commended his crew for the swift operation that led to timely evacuation of the patient.
