"The incident has been recorded in police diary and from today we have started recording the statements of the affected persons," said DCP (Operations) Sangramsingh Nishandar.
He said the fire officials have not given exact cause behind the mishap.
Meanwhile, the cooling operations at the building were completed by 12.15 PM, according to the officials of the Disaster Control department.
The blaze broke out around 3.50 PM in the first floor of the ground plus three building yesterday, which houses famous Cafe Mondegar and guest houses where some foreign nationals were staying.
