Mid and lower hills experienced widespread moderate rains while Shimla and its surrounding areas are experiencing intermittent rains since last night, they said
High-altitude tribal areas and other higher hills had another spell of moderate snowfall, the officials said.
Rohtang Pass and its adjoining areas recorded 15 to 20 cm of fresh snowfall while Kothi and Udaipur received 5 cm of snow, Kalpa 4 cm and Keylong 3 cm.
Widespread rains lashed the mid and lower hills. Manali was wettest with 30 mm rains.
Una was hottest during the day with maximum temperature at 24.8 degrees Celsius. Sundernagar and Nahan recorded a high of 21.6 degrees Celsius.
The minimum temperatures also remained below normal and Keylong and Kalpa recorded a low of minus 3.4 degrees Celsius and 0.2 degrees Celsius respectively.
Manali recorded 2 degrees Celsius, Shimla 5.7 degrees Celsius, Bhuntar 7 degrees Celsius and Solan 7.6 degrees Celsius, Palampur 9.5 degrees Celsius and Dharamsala 9.8 degrees Celsius.
The local MeT office has predicted rains or snow at some places in mid and higher hills tomorrow and dry weather in the region for three days from March 18 onwards.
