While Phulbani recorded a minimum temperature of 4.6 degrees Celsius, the lowest so far this winter in the state, the mercury in picturesque Daringbadi in the mountainous district dropped to 4.8 degrees Celsius, the MeT officials said.
Cold wave conditions are likely to continue over some parts of interior Odisha, they said.
Apart from Phulbani town and Daringbadi, the cold wave conditions swept elsewhere in Kandhamal district disrupting normal life in G Udayagiri, Balliguda, Kotagarh and Tumudibandha blocks.
Light frost is expected at Belghar and Daringbadi in next few days where night temperature has dropped in the last four days, it said, adding there was thin layer of snow at Belghar and Daringbadi areas in the last week of December last year.
