The two facilities combined will produce around one million devices over the next six months and will employ close to 600 people, Comio said in a statement.
The facilities will include assembly, packaging, maintenance, testing, quality assurance and warehousing for existing and upcoming smartphones for the brand across eight assembly and packaging lines (five by V-Sun and three by Hipad Technology).
"With this initiative, COMIO will be investing Rs 150 crore in manufacturing over the next two years in India. We look forward to reaching greater heights with our trusted partners - Hipad and V-Sun," Comio India CEO and Director Sanjay Kumar Kalirona said.
Comio caters to mid-level smartphone segment priced between Rs 6,000-12,000. It plans to strengthen its brand presence with a network of 30,000 retailers, 800 distributors and over 800 after-sales touch points catering to 500-550 towns.
