"Indian Army is committed to ensure overall development of villages along the LoC through joint initiatives undertaken with civil administration since December 2015," Brigadier H S Sahi, Commander, Bhimber Gali Brigade, said.
He was speaking at a function organised by the army to dedicate two community centres to border village of Balakote in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Brigadier Sahi said a number of projects including check dams for irrigation, polyhouses for growing vegetables, vermicompost units, construction of roads and tracks have already been started in the area by the army with active support of the civil administration.
