"There have been complaints against the online retailers; we have recently heard the informant on what their grievances are and we have heard the online retail companies," CCI Chairman Ashok Chawla said here.
"... May be in the next month or 45 days we will be able to take decision on whether this matter needs to be investigated and we need to proceed under the competition law or whether it is not a matter concerning the competition," he said.
In recent times, many e-commerce portals have been coming out with steep discount sales.
Flipkart's 'Big Billion Day' sale in October last year, that offered steep discounts on various products, had raised concerns among small and big traders that such campaigns would badly affect players in the traditional retail market.
