The condition of Koraput rape survivor, who allegedly made a suicide attempt last week, is stable now, doctors treating her said today.
She will remain in the SCB Medical College and Hospital here for some more days as she is under observation by a psychiatrist.
"The patient is stable and all her clinical reports were found to be normal today," said Dr Sriprasad Mohanty, who is heading an 11-member team set up to treat her.
The minor girl allegedly made an attempt to commit suicide on Saturday by taking iron tablets, doctors said.
On her mental condition, Mohanty said "She appears to be very depressed and confused."
The girl from Koraput district was brought here for treatment on Sunday night by a team from Koraput Child Welfare Committee (CWC).
The victim in her statement before the police had alleged that four persons in camouflage combat uniform had raped her on October 10.
In another development, security personnel guarding the rape survivor did not allow a team of BJP leaders, who came to meet the girl today.
State Congress president Prasad Harichandan, who had come on Tuesday, was also not allowed.
The political leaders left the Hospital after discussions with doctors.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on November 8 ordered a judicial inquiry into incident after Odisha Police ruled out possibility of rape despite the girl's claim that she was gang raped.
