: The confirmation hearing for Mike Pompeo for the Secretary of State post would be held on April 12, a key Congressional Committee said today.
Pompeo, currently is the Director of CIA, the top American intelligence agency. If confirmed by the Senate, he would replace Rex Tillerson as the Secretary of State. Tillerson was fired by Trump last month.
One of the first few things on the to do list after his confirmation and swearing in would be finding a date for India US two plus two. An initiative of the Trump Administration, it was initially scheduled to be held this month, but has been postpones for the time being in the absence of a Secretary of State.
The announcement to replace Tillerson came ahead of a much-anticipated upcoming sit-down meeting between Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un.
