Congress has adopted a strategy of "spit and run" with regard to Vyapam scam against BJP, Union Minister Prakash Javadekar alleged today.
"Congress is confused and Congress has adopted a strategy of spit and run. They are not proving anything. They are only proving their desperation. Nothing more than that," he told reporters here.
He was replying to a query on the Congress' attack on BJP and the party's demand for the resignation of Madhya Pradesh Shivraj Singh Chouhan in connection with the Vyapam scam.
"It is the Chief Minister who has ordered the SIT probe, in the first place. The whole inquiry was started and initiated without Congress demand, on his own," the Union Minister for Environment said.
The SIT is conducting the probe into the massive admission and recruitment scandal in Madhya Pradesh under the High Court's supervision, he said.
"He (Chouhan) himself ordered (the probe) and High Court has expressed tremendous satisfaction (on its progress). The SIT is conducting investigations under the High Court," the Union minister said.
Javadekar was here to take part in an event organised at the BJP State headquarters on occasion of Jan Sangh founder Syama Prasad Mukherjee's birth anniversary.
Speaking at the event, he said Telangana and Andhra Pradesh should live together peacefully and avoid getting into disputes and quarrels.
The Union Environment Minister said his Ministry would give Rs 35,000 crore to the states to promote "green India".
Javadekar said he would tour all the states to promote greenery.
Earlier in the day, he participated in the Telangana Government's green drive 'Telangana ku harita haram'.
