Accusing the bureaucrats for ruining Jharkhand, the state Congress today said the education sector is the worst affected one due to their indifferent approach.
A large number of posts of professors and lecturers as well as other grades were lying vacant in all five universities in Jharkhand, but not a single appointment was made since 2008 because of the bureaucrats, alleged Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee (JPCC) secretary S R A Rizvi Chabban.
Referring to the scenario of the Kolhan University, Chabban told newsmen that all the 22 sanctioned post of professors and 44 of readers in the university were lying vacant for long.
Claiming that the colleges have acute shortage of teaching and non-teaching staff, Chabban said Kolhan University has 14 constituent colleges under it, but none of the colleges, barring Singhbhum College in Chandil have a full-fledged principal.
The scenario of other four universities - Ranchi University, Ranchi, Vinoba Bhave University, Hazaribagh, Sidhu-Kanhu University, Dumka and Nilambar-Pitambar University, Daltongunj, Palamau - was no different, he alleged.
About the role of the bureaucrats, Chabban said former Jharkhand Governor Dr Syed Ahmed, who was then the Chancellor of Universities, had taken initiative to fill the vacant posts, but could not succeeded owing to the interference of the bureaucrats of the state.
"In fact, the approach of the bureaucrats has ruined the state," he alleged.
The Congress leader also regretted that majority of the students were migrating to other states in search of higher studies.
