Congress activists, while raising anti-Centre slogans, entered Jammu railway station and tried to stop a train around 10:15 am today, officials said.
Carrying party flags, they continued protest demonstrations for some time but were later dispersed by police, they said.
Two other groups of Congress activists held separate protest demonstrations at Bishnah and Gangyal areas of Jammu district early today, officials said, adding they also burnt the effigy of Railway Minister D V Sadananda Gowda at Gangyal.
In a separate protest demonstration, the activists of BSP accompanied by some party functionaries took out a procession in old city and raised slogans against the Central government for increasing railway fare and sugar prices.
