"Congress leaders must stop interfering in the transfers of police and civil officers. They should stop demoralising the officers for their personal agenda," Leader of Opposition in the state Assembly HS Phoolka told reporters here.
He alleged that the Congress leaders were behaving in a manner "worse than the Akali leaders" and "preventing government officials from performing their duties effectively".
The senior AAP leader also alleged that the Congress leaders were indulging in "vendetta politics" and "putting pressure on the police to register bogus cases on their political opponents".
Instead of "ensuring officers of its choice" on certain posts, the government should focus on improving the law-and- order situation in the state, said Phoolka.
